HDRE/Tokyo Gas in 340MW BESS deal
Taiwan's HD Renewable Energy has signed operational service agreements and long-term offtake arrangements with Tokyo Gas for 340MW of BESS projects.
The projects include 149MW schemes in Aomori prefecture, awarded under Japan’s long-term decarbonisation auction. They are scheduled to commence commercial operations in FY2029, with HDRE responsible for development and construction and Tokyo Gas overseeing operations after commissioning.
Under the long-term offtake framework, HDRE has signed agreements with Tokyo Gas covering projects in Miyazaki, Iwate, Miyagi and Fukushima, totalling approximately 190MW. Tokyo Gas will obtain operational rights to the assets and pay usage fees over approximately 20 years.
