It is difficult to know what to make of the latest stop orders on the five US offshore wind farm projects in construction. For a start, the Department of the Interior is not sharing classified information for national security reasons. But whatever the ins and outs, US$12.1bn of project finance is on the line.
The Philippines' Board of Investments has approved the registration of two solar projects with an estimated combined value of Ps2bn (US$33.7m). One is a Ps1.99bn Gamu solar power project that will be developed by Intramuros Solar Energy Corp in the municipalities of Gamu and Naguilian, Isabela. The solar farm, which is estimated to have 70.8MW capacity, will be developed across two provinces – Isabela and Pangasinan. It is set to begin operations in April 2027.
